Special Fair Trade event at Montgomery DEC Monday 30 May, 4.30pm – meet rice farmers from Malawi!

We are delighted to be hosting Just Trading Scotland (JTS), a fair trade organisation set up to facilitate the import and distribution of fairly traded products to the UK, at Montgomery DEC on Monday 30 May.

JTS challenges schools and other organisations to sell 90kg of rice – the amount that would enable a Malawian farmer to pay for a year’s basic secondary education for one child.

You can find out more about JTS at their website http://jts.co.uk/about-us/about-jts

JTS are now travelling around Scotland together with Howard Msukwa and Kenneth Mwakasungala –  two rice farmers from Malawi who will tell their stories.

Where: Montgomery Development Education Centre (Opposite Lemon Tree side entrance, through the red door)
79 Queen Street
Aberdeen AB10 1AN

When: Monday 30 May, 16.30 to 18.00 (Doors open at 16.00).

If you plan to attend, please email Hannes Sundkvist on mdec.hannes@btconnect.com
